My Blogging Journey + Fall Outfit

Can you tell I'm laughing in this picture? Because I totally am. lol. There was a man walking by while my friend Alex was taking the picture. We sometimes have to use our lunch break to snag a few pictures by the office. I was laughing because he had that look on his face like, "What in the world are y'all doing?'

"Oh you know, just taking some pictures for the blog...no big deal."

So today I wanted to open up about my blogging journey. 3 years ago I had the thought or idea to start a blog. I had no idea how I was going to start it, and what it would really be about. I knew I wanted to write about beauty products, and beauty tips, but I also wanted to incorporate fashion + personal experiences.

I had a whole list of names for my blog. I decided to go with "amylynbeauty" because it was my first and middle name, plus the word "beauty" which related to my niche.

In my opinion, the word "beauty" holds many meanings. Beauty is about feeling, expression, and creation. I wanted this to be my space to do just that. (feel, express, and create)

I remember being absolutely TERRIFIED to start this blog. It was completely outside of my comfort zone, but I knew it would be worth it. I have made so many wonderful connections through the blogging world, and I encourage all of you to start a blog. I love reading about people's passions and interests. I have learned so much through the connections I've made, and i'm eager to learn more.

I eventually want to write more personal posts and incorporate more makeup posts as well. The truth is, blogging takes up A LOT of time. I'm working on improving my organizational/time management skills so I can provide more content more often. The biggest struggle is finding the time to capture pictures for content. Makeup looks and product pictures take the most time, so that's why you'll see more outfit posts.

I've had many wonderful opportunities with different companies, and I'm excited to see what this next year brings. Thank you everyone who does check out my blog. Also, thank you to those of you who've provided me with feedback. You guys are seriously awesome, and you definitely keep me motivated.

Now for all the outfit details!

I purchased these booties from Nordstrom Rack a few months ago when they were having a big sale. I think I snagged them for $30, but unfortunately I can't find the link anymore! :-( Why does this always happen?? I'm linking a few other great options:

It's all about the details my friends. I realized the other day that I need to venture out of my jewelry comfort zone. Most of the jewelry I own is gold in color. What can I say, I love gold! Here are the links and a few similar items:

Chris Cross Ring (on sale for $8.76)

This top is so soft and comfy! I've been on an off the shoulder kick lately. I purchased this from Loft when they were having their friends and family sale. I'm wearing a size medium and it fits true to size.

The only con I would say about this top is that I had to constantly pull it down and make sure it stayed off the shoulders. All in all, I really like it though. It's soft and perfect for fall when it's not super cold outside.

My jeans are 7 for All Mankind, and I purchased these from Nordstrom Rack. I would recommend sizing down a size because these do stretch.

Sunglasses are from Loft. (On sale for $12!)

Lipstick is the: Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick in the color "Lover." I'm really impressed with this formula. I wore this to my friend Alex's wedding, and it stayed on all afternoon and night! I never had to reapply it.

Have a great Tuesday friends! Thank you for stopping by.
